Beer & Bacon Festival
2018 marked the 6th annual Beer & Bacon Festival fundraiser for the Omaha Jaycees and a select beneficiary partner. The 2018 beneficiary partner was MICAH House for their incredible work in assisting single females and their families through some of the most difficult times of their lives.
The event also doubles as a food competition, in conjunction with the World Food Championships, acting as Nebraska’s automatic qualifying event in the ‘Bacon Division’ for the international competition held annually in November and televised on the Food Network.
Since 2005 the Jaycees have partnered with Village Pointe Shopping Center for our Hometown Holidays donation drive benefiting children associated with the Nebraska Children’s Home Society. The Omaha Jaycees set up Christmas trees, decorated with “angels”, throughout Village Pointe. Each angel card represents a child in need. The card contains a child’s gift wishes, which patrons can use as a guide to purchase gifts for the child, and instructions on where to drop-off gifts.
We appreciate your continued support and hope that you’ll be an ‘angel’ once again this year for an Omaha child in need of some Christmas love and cheer!
The Omaha Jaycees select 10 Outstanding High School students from the Omaha community each year and award them with a scholarship for advancing their education via an annual ceremony held at Village Point.
Applications are open to any high school senior in the Omaha community.
