Community Service

Service to humanity is the best work of life. The Omaha Jaycees strive to improve the community we live in through service projects that reach virtually all aspects of the Omaha metro area. Community service is a great way to help others as well as meet new people and develop outstanding leadership skills. Please join us in helping our community. We are always looking for new partnerships with chairities and organizations to form partnerships.  For more information or to volunteer for an event contact the Community Vice President. Together, we can make a difference in the Omaha community.
Heartland Hope

Heartland Hope Mission Food Pantry

The Omaha Jaycees welcomed nearly 20 members during our pantry evening with the Heartland Hope Mission this year. Primarily serving the working poor in South Omaha, the Heartland Hope Mission's goal is to prevent families from becoming homeless while helping them become self-sufficient. The Heartland Hope Mission is more than a pantry providing people in need with a week's supply of food, clothing and hygiene and household items. They also provide financial classes and referrals to community resources.

Brush Up Nebraska

In a partnership with Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals, the Omaha Jaycees successfully participated in the 28th annual Brush Up Nebraska Paint-a-Thon in August. Since its inception, Brush Up Nebraska has painted over 28,000 homes of low income and elderly individuals in our community!

Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarim

In a member only exclusive event, the Omaha Jaycee's have volunteered at the Henry Doorly Zoo, making cardboard and paper mache "toys" for the residents of the zoo. Later in the year, these toys will be used by the Animal Enrichment Program at the zoo, for the animals to enjoy.

Hometown Holidays - Gifts for Kids

In the winter, we partner with the Village Pointe Shopping Center to solicit gifts and donations with giving trees throughout the shopping center.  The gift are for the children associated with the Nebraska Children's Home Society.  The project includes the ultimate shopping day to finish getting gifts for tag's left on the giving trees.
