Community Projects
Service to humanity is the best work of life. The Omaha Jaycees strive to improve the community we live in through service projects that reach virtually all aspects of the Omaha metro area. Community service is a great way to help others as well as meet new people and develop outstanding leadership skills. Please join us in helping our community. In the past, the Omaha Jaycees have completed the following community service projects. Many of these events will be offered again this year. We are always looking for new partnerships with chairities and organizations to form partnerships.
Nebraska State High School Academic Decathlon
Helped to judge speeches and act as room proctors.
Easter Eggstavaganza Celebration
Helping the Open Door Mission prepare for their annual Easter Egg Hunt by stuffing plastic Easter Eggs with candy and toys.
Red Cross Blood Drive
An opportunity to donate blood
Veteran’s Home Bingo
Play bingo with the residents and award prizes
 
Earth Day
Serve concessions in the refreshment stand
  
Multiple Sclerosis Society Walk
Help to coordinate and register participates for the MS Society’s annual benefit
Special Olympic Villge
This event is held at the Nebraska State Special Olympic event, usually around May each year. The Special Olympic Village entertains competitors between events. Jaycees offer carnival-type activities and give prizes to every athletes that visits the Jaycees. Many times, the athletes themselves have so much fun, that they offer to volunteer along side us.

Collect back to school clothes and other supplies.
Campfire USA
Coordinate activities for local youth
Packs of Promise
Fill book bags with back to school items
Night Sight Golf
This is a favorite every year! The Jaycees helps the Prevent Blindness annual golf tournament. When there's still daylight, the Jaycees helps with fundraising effots (silent auctions, live auctions, etc.). When the sun goes down, the Jaycees assist golfers with glow-in-the dark balls on a round of golf in the dark.
  
Walk for the Animals
Volunteer to help the Humane Society’s annual event
Open Door Mission Great Thanksgiving Banquet
Serve Thanksgiving meals to underprivileged families
  
Hometown Holidays
Provide holiday gifts to disadvantaged local children
